Please can you rate my GT Writing Task 1:

You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work.

Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college.

In the letter,

•Describe the situation
•Explain your problems and why is it difficult to work
•Say what kind of accommodation you would prefer.

Dear Accommodation Officer,

I am writing this letter to bring to your notice about the various problems I am facing with the room I am living in. I am sharing this accommodation with another personm which I found difficult to live with and all this is hampering my work too.

The major problem with shared accommodation is no two persons are alike and their thoughts do not match. We have have very different styles of living. i work in morning shift ( 9 AM till 6 PM) and my roommate works in day shift (1PM – 10 PM). Whne he gets back to home he watches Television and carries on with his stuff but all these activities of him disturb me a lot. He sleep late and I have to wake up early, therefor, I am unable to sleep properly. All this is affecting my efficiency at work.

I would therefor, request you to please provide me a single room accommodation to help me survive better.

Yours faithfully,
Xyz

My try on Letter to Accommodation Officer
by: Anonymous

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction and discomfort that I have been going through with my current room. I would like to request for the new arrangement.

I am final year student, and I have my finals next month. However, I am unable to concentrate on my studies due to my roommate. Even though my roommate is a nice guy, but his certain behaviors, like noisy phone calls, loud music, and late night coming are having negative effects on my studies. Furthermore, he frequently brings his friends to our room and party with them till late night. I have tried several times to explain my situation to him, but everything is same. I need to score good marks for my future employment, and I hope you will consider my request seriously.

If possible, I would like a single room. However, in case if it is not possible, I would like a roommate someone who is serious with his studies, preferably someone from the final year. Moreover, I would like a noise-free room, probably on the top floor without shared terrace or balcony.

I hope you will take the appropriate actions as early to your convenience.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Pranay

Dear Sir,

I would like to express my displeasure with respect to my accommodation. When I signed up for my MBA, I specifically requested for a single room. Unfortunately, this has not been the case and therefore, I am extremely disappointed with the situation and the circumstances impacting my accommodation.

To begin with, the room I live in could barely house 3 people. However, I find myself living with two roommates making it extremely uncomfortable for all of us. In addition, given my roommates are still in the 1st year of their degrees, they tend to spend a considerable amount of time outdoors during the nights. Often, they return to the room closer to dawn. This has significantly disrupted my sleep and I believe, it has negatively impacted my studies. I find it extremely challenging to concentrate on my lectures given the lack of sleep. To make matters worst, the music is constantly played loud making it almost impossible for me to focus on my assignments. My final thesis is due in 3 weeks, I am extremely worried about meeting the submission deadline.

Considering my desperate situation, I really feel something needs to be done. I kindly urge the management to relocate me to a single room. I would appreciate this as it would help me concentrate better at a very crucial juncture of my course and enable me to complete my studies.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
II
