3 Months to Get IELTS Band 7.5

Hello IELTS buddy,

I have got 6.0 bands in speaking, listening and in writing I got 6.5 and in reading I got 5.5.

I want to get 7 bands in reading and writing and 8 bands in speaking and listening.

How can I get the score I want. I have only 3 months period. Please suggest me the ways to get the score.

Hi Heena,

You are talking about quite big improvements there - improving by 2 bands in speaking and listening and 1.5 in reading.

It's really difficult to judge whether you can do that in three months without assessing you properly and finding out where your strengths and weaknesses are.

But assuming your level is as you were last assessed in the test (around band 6), 3 months is really not enough time to improve up to 7.5. You want 8 in two components - that is virtually being fluent but now you are band 6 which is way below that.

Writing is quite possible as you only need to improve by half a band (6.5 to 7). That is easily possible in 3 months.

To get the score you want overall you really are going to need to focus on just improving your general English skills, not just IELTS exam tactics, as you have so far to go.

And to speed things up and have any chance of improving that much in such a short space of time you'd really need to look at some form of formal lessons and tutoring.

So as I say you really need a proper assessment of your current skills, but you may need to set yourself a much longer time period to achieve your goal.
